Re-sizing a Design

I made a series of Schleich presentation sets, and got a request to re-size one of the designs to fit a Breyer traditional model. On the left is the 1:24 scale version, and on the right, is the 1:9 presentation set.

Pendant Presentation Sets

INSPIRATION:

 

I was inspired by these two ornate presentation sets to work out a miniature design with looped chain details and hanging pendants.  

DESIGN:

l still had a small assortment of metal pendants from other projects.  I think both the squares and triangles work well with the looped chain.

Shark-tooth Halters

INSPIRATION:

 

I was really inspired by the beautiful woven ribbon brow-bands on some English in-hand bridles and filly slips. The two pictured above are designs by MG Bridles. 

DESIGN:

So, I put together a set of presentation halters, or filly slips, with shark-tooth style brow-bands and rosettes. Weaving ribbon into a 1:9 scale band proved to be too challenging for me, so I put my paper-crafting experience to use, and cut and pasted individual shark-teeth onto the brow-bands instead.

New Arabian Presentation Sets

INSPIRATION:

Another beaded collar and halter design has been added to the collection. I decided to try a more streamlined and delicate look for the collar, with one large pendant in the center, and a row of bobbles on either side. I based my new design on two lovely presentation sets that I found on Pinterest, pictured above. 

DESIGN:

After a couple of rough-drafts, I worked out a wire pendant design and beading pattern for the collar. To complement the new collar, I decided to slim down my old halter pattern, using only one nose chain, with one row of matching metallic glass beads.

Miniature Horse Halters

INSPIRATION:

After re-painting my resin miniature horse from Breyer, I decided to see if I could make her a little show halter. If I could think up a pattern, I would add a collection mini Arabian style cable halters to the shop for more mini model horses to enjoy. 

I was inspired by the beautiful Ozark Triumph Closed Ring miniature horse halters designed by Ozark Mountain Mini Tack.

 

DESIGN:

Since I don't have much experience rolling leather, I stitched rolled nylon to create the cheek pieces. For the striped noseband, I layered more black nylon and a thin strip of metallic silver foil. For some variations, I used brass hardware, and replaced the metallic noseband with different colors of glitter.

A Few New Designs

A few new designs for the shop: 

Some new presentation sets, pairing some sweet miniature metal pendants that I found a while back, with beaded chain fringe. 

A show halter, inspired by Missouri Foxtrotter show tack.

And last, but not least, a versatile show halter with gold cabochons, for gaited, carriage, or draft breeds.
